Looking More Like A Car!

We finally got all of the body parts back on the car so it is looking more like a real car now.

Making a little more progress!

We made a little more progress on the assembly, had to send the cars off for a rebuild but they should only be gone for a week.

Pink Floyd has Glass

Now that the windshield is installed it is really starting to look like a car again!

[nggallery id=67]

Pink Floyd Week 26

We made really good progress this week. We tackled some of the harder items this week such as the dash pad installation and the windshield frame Assembly. I also finished up all of the electrical wiring and completed the cluster and dash insert installation.

You will note in several of the pictures I am contorting under the dash trying to install a few items. Also we finally got a few shots of the guard dogs helping out in the shop, not too much guarding, more waiting for milk bones 🙂

Pink Floyd Gets Some Teeth

Pink Floyd no longer looks like he is from TN, he now has teeth in his new Grille. We also go the back bumpers installed, now it is on to the interior.

[nggallery id=65]

Pink Floyd Week 25 (Look mom, no teeth)

This is a typical TN car, no teeth 🙂 Ok the grille teeth have not been installed yet but Pink Floyd will soon have teeth again.

We finally got the chrome back from being redone so we made a bunch of progress getting trim and bumpers re-installed. I also completed 99% of the wiring, just a few items to button up once the new dash pad gets installed.

The new black stayfast top arrived this week so once we get the windshield installed the to can go on.

The big job this week will installing a new dash pad, putting the windshield glass back in the frame and re-installing all of the door latches and window mechanisms.  We also need to get the gas tank back in the car.

Pink Floyd gets some BLING

Pink Floyd started getting some BLING this week. The chrome has started arriving back from being redone so on it goes.

We also finished the bulk of installing the new wiring harness and we installed the new cool looking retro stereo.

Stacey David’s Gearz TV Set Tour

The antique car club had an awesome tour at Stacey David’s Gears TV set. He was a great guy to spend time with, a true car guy and not just a TV personality. He was happy to have us visit and he treated us like close friends. He is one great guy and he has one awesome shop.

A big thank you to Mike Gillespie who set this up for us!

Pink Floyd Week 23

We made great progress during week 23 of the build. The A/C, radiator and almost all of the engine bay is complete. It seems like this week I ended up doing everything twice because I forgot something or did it wrong the first time 🙂  Hopefully the rest of the build does not go that way!

We also got the air vent installed and started working on the trim bits. I started getting parts back from my chromer on Friday so hopefully it will all arrive this week.

I also picked up a new glass for the windshield and finished the installation of the new brake mater cylinder and emergency brake lines.

We also got the exhaust put in place, now we just have to put on all the hangers and clamps.

Lots more to do this week!

Pink Floyd – Week 22

Welcome to week 22 🙂 We made a lot of fabrication and re-assembly progress over the last week. We installed the new dual brake master system and finished shimming the body. Still working on the clutch rod, it is not lined up quite right.

We then finished most of the interior insulation (a product called Second Skin) but we ran out and had to order more.

We then completed the installation of a more modern windshield wiper system which required a bit of fabrication.

The Vintage Air A/C system was by far the most non-standard installation thus far in the project. It seems at each step of the process there are small tweaks here and there but over all it has had good instructions and it is almost completely installed.
