ICT Billet A/C Bracket Install & Review 551494-3

We bought an ICT Billet A/C Bracket part# 551494-3 and installed iton a 5.3 Vortec LS engine.

The kit was great but unfortunately I did not measure where my inner fender wells would line up and when I went to install them the 508 style compressor hits.

A quick call into ICT Billet and I found option number two, a part number 551352-3 which seems to have better clearance but they only issue is I now need to use a mini style Sanden 7176 compressor.

The good news is ICT Billet is willing to help us out on a return based on my application error 🙂

Raptor Bed Liner used as undercoating on a 1950 Chevy Truck (Raptor by U-POL )

This is a video we put together on using Raptor by U-POL as an undercoating and underside finish for both drivers and show cars. This application is being used on our 1950 Chevy 5 window Truck project.

1950 Chevy Truck Paint Progress

We periodically do a few major projects in the Full Octane Garage. We are currently building a 1950 Chevy 5 window restomod truck and we wanted to share some of the paint progress.

50 Chevy Truck Body Progress

We finally got back to work on the 1950 Chevy 5 window truck project this week. Today Dennis spent a bunch of time prepping the majority of the body panels for some Slicksand high build primer. Dennis put down about 3/4 of a gallon and it is now drying overnight before he starts to do some block sanding.

This truck is going to look great and it should blow away Gas Monkey Garage’s old Chevy (3 window) truck that they just sold for $150,000 🙂

Tonight I will move onto doing some work getting the chassis ready to drop the body on once it is painted.

Engine and Trans mocked up in Project 50 Five Window

We finally got back to work on the truck tonight, managed to get the LS engine and 4L60E transmission mocked up on the chassis. Tomorrow’s project is doing some measuring and adjusting on the LS engine plates, I think it is too far forward.

Project 5 Window Body Update

We just got the body back from media blasting and to our surprise it looks pretty good. We need to replace some cab corners and fix a few dings but the rest looks nice. After a few hours of blowing sand out of the cab we got it in Epoxy Primer.

Project 5 Window Chassis Update

We made some nice progress on the chassis of the 1950 Chevy five window truck. We cleaned up and reinforced a bunch of the welds and we converted the Heidts front end to tubular control arms. We blasted everything, painted and now are back to rolling chassis status.
