New Fisker EMotion – Taking Pre-Orders

It looks like Fisker is back in business and they are now taking pre-orders for the all new Fisker EMotion. I have always liked the Fisker styling but their financial troubles have turned me off a bit and with that I would be a little concerned about what is different this time around.

They seem to be hitting all of the key points, styling, range, technology but we have not seen performance specs yet.

1 Year with the GMC Denali Sierra 1500, An Owner’s Perspective

Well it has been 1 year and 36K miles since we bought the 2017 GMC Denali Sierra 1500. In this video, we will review the good, the not so good, reliability and costs for the Denali. check out the videos below for related content.

1963 Corvette Split Window (Project Second Chance)

Well it seems I am a gluten for punishment, I am back for my 4th build since 2012. At the end of each build I keep saying this will be my last but the projects keep finding me. I am sure some of you know how that goes

For now I am calling this Project Second Chance because I am the second builder attempting to complete it

This car is not new to the forum but it is new to me. My good friend Matt (TNVetteGuy) started this project just under 2 years ago and he started posting progress pictures on 9/24/15. He stripped the car down, had it soda blasted, bought a lot of cool parts and he made a good amount of progress on the car. Then his priorities changed a little so we worked out a deal and the car now has a what I call a Second Chance at completion.

I have big plans for the car but I am still on the fence on color. My other 3 Corvettes are red so everyone thinks my paint gun only sprays red. I am thinking it will be either Torch Red or I am thinking of Watkins Glenn Gray. We have never spayed metallic so we are a little concerned on how it will turn out. We have Touch Red down to a science and know we can make it look awesome. Both of them will have a red interior.

Here are some specs on the build to date:
63 SWC Donor Body
SRIII chassis with C5/6 suspension and a Camaro ZL1 Rear Diff
Power Steering
Power Brakes
LS3/430HP cruise and connect
Auto 4L70
Vintage Air Front Runner
Ididit Column
Lokar Shifter
Flat Firewall
C6 Seats
Tubbed but not flared
Z06 wheels
275-35-18’s on the front Nitto Invo tires
325-30-19’s on the rear Nitto Invo tires

Here are a bunch of pictures to catch you up on the last two years up to last weekends relocation to my garage.

Trailer Rehab – FRP Trailer Wall Repair/Replacement – Part 1

We created this video as a trailer rehab project on what needs to be done and can be done to an older enclosed trailer. This also has a focus on trailers with Fiberglass Reinforced Panels (FRP) where repair or panel replacement is required.

Project Z57 GMC Chassis from RR Frames has arrived

The new custom built Chassis from RR Frames arrived for Project Z57 GMC last night. This is built to accept C4 Corvette suspension and running gear and an LS2. Now I guess I need to get busy 🙂

1950 Chevy 5 Window Truck Project Update 6/18/17

We have been making a little progress on the 50 Five Window. I am hoping just a few more nights and I will be able to fire it up.

I keep thinking I am 2 more weeks away and that keeps happening every 2 weeks 🙂

I need to get this one completed because the new custom chassis comes in next week for my 1957 GMC project 🙂

I finally made some decent progress this weekend and actually got it back down on the wheels. I have the engine bay just about complete, wood for the bed is sealed ready to install, made seat brackets and got the seats installed and completed all of the electrical and A/C. The electrical was a pain because I decided to mount the fuse box and computer under the passenger seat and I had to extend a lot of wires.

I was able to keep the engine bay pretty clean, installed all of the wiring under the passenger front fender and have a drop out battery box under the passenger floor.

I had to try 3 different pipes before I was finally able to get the air intake route to work, it was very tight up against my radiator fan. I still need to fab up a support bracket for the intake piping.

2300 Miles in a Jaguar with no Top, One Man’s Epic Journey

Our friend Paul took the time to sit down with the Full Octane Garage and share his incredible 2300 mile journey to collect a replica of a 1952 Jaguar XK120. This beautiful 25 year old reproduction only had one major concern…. its brand new top was not installed!
