Project Z57 GMC Chassis from RR Frames has arrived
The new custom built Chassis from RR Frames arrived for Project Z57 GMC last night. This is built to accept C4 Corvette suspension and running gear and an LS2. Now I guess I need to get busy 🙂
1950 Chevy 5 Window Truck Project Update 6/18/17
We have been making a little progress on the 50 Five Window. I am hoping just a few more nights and I will be able to fire it up.
I keep thinking I am 2 more weeks away and that keeps happening every 2 weeks 🙂
I need to get this one completed because the new custom chassis comes in next week for my 1957 GMC project 🙂
I finally made some decent progress this weekend and actually got it back down on the wheels. I have the engine bay just about complete, wood for the bed is sealed ready to install, made seat brackets and got the seats installed and completed all of the electrical and A/C. The electrical was a pain because I decided to mount the fuse box and computer under the passenger seat and I had to extend a lot of wires.
I was able to keep the engine bay pretty clean, installed all of the wiring under the passenger front fender and have a drop out battery box under the passenger floor.
I had to try 3 different pipes before I was finally able to get the air intake route to work, it was very tight up against my radiator fan. I still need to fab up a support bracket for the intake piping.

TOP SECRET Lane Motor Museum Tour (Behind the scenes + Basement Tour including the Nissan Heritage Collection). OK, not so TOP SECRET but the basement and Nissan Collection is not something that is opened up regularly so this was quite a treat for a group of us to have an opportunity to visit.
This was a joint AACA Car Club tour by Battlefield AACA, Music City AACA and the Honk Rattle & Roll AACA Touring Club. Thanks to all who attended.
Project Z57 (1957 GMC) Back From Media Blast
We picked up the truck from media blast today and to our surprise most of the body was in really nice shape. Well at least the important parts, the back fenders were pretty rough and the doors could use a little work but overall it looks great.
2017 Cars and Cigars event to support the Make a Wish Foundation!
The Full Octane Garage was enlisted to help contact exotic and classic car owners who were willing to show their cars at the Cars and Cigars event to support the Make a Wish Foundation!
Music City Motorcars, Velocity Motorcars and Enterprise Exotic Rental Cars, along with a few individuals such as ourselves, braved the weather in support of the cause. Also in attendance were many of Nashville’s finest restaurants and vendors of wine, whisky, beer and cigars! The weather held off and it turned out to be a great event!
1950 Chevy Five Window Progress Update 03/27/2017
We are making a little more progress on the 50. We got the LS harness all installed and mounted the computer under the passenger seat. We also mounted the fuse box behind the passenger seat and will route all of the wiring under the truck and back up inside the front wheel well to get up to the dash.
We have all of the A/C lines completed and unit installed under the dash. Now we have to do duct work and wiring.
The truck is now on the lift up in the air to complete the wiring and driveshaft install.
