Picked up a LS 5.3 and 4L60E trans today
We picked up a complete LS 5.3 and 4L60E trans from a GMC truck today, I have plans to freshen it up and put in the 1950 project but it may in up in the 57.
88 Corvette Engine Removal
We made more progress on tearing down the 88 Corvette donor car.
This top was cut off and sold yesterday and this was the progression of the engine removal today. The engine is finally out. Thanks to my friend Allen Pezo for some needed help!
Pink Floyd Day 2
Day 2 (well night 2) was a short day but we made good progress on removing the interior.
Pink Floyd Day 3
We made a lot of progress on day 3 of tear down. We finished up removing the bumpers, the trunk, rear deck lid and finished up stripping out the mechanical s from the passenger door. I bought a steering wheel puller but the bolts were too short so hopefully tomorrow I can get the wheel off and finish up getting the dash out. Off to bed now, more tomorrow.

Pink Floyd Day 4
It was a short night tonight. We were able to remove the parking brake, hood release and dash cluster.
I also put some stuff on Craig s list and already sold some of it. I met with another Corvette enthusiast this afternoon and I sold the motor and Hurst Shifter. Now I just have a nice hood and wing to sell 🙂 I also have a buyer for the side pipes and headers.
The New 1988 Corvette Donor Car Has Arrived
If you have been following us you will recall we have been planning a build for our 1957 GMC truck project. The truck has been in the family since it was almost new and it has been in California so very little rust. It is still in California and it looks like it will not be ready to ship until mid March so that has left me a lot of time to do planning and parts collecting 🙂

New 1957 GMC Shop Truck Project
We got an opportunity to buy a 1957 GMC project truck from our family that has been in the family as far back as I can remember. The truck is beat up a bit but it is a California truck so very little rust. We are planning on making the truck a short bed, doing a complete modern suspension upgrade, add an LS engine with an automatic trans, power steering, power brakes and a lot of coolness.
I have also included a few pictures of an inspiration truck that I would like to recreate some lines from. Now I have to think of a name for the project.
Pink Floyd Day 6
Day number 6 ends with a good amount of progress. We removed the doors and just about finished up under the dash, just have the pedals to go now. I tried to remove the steering box without taking off the header, NO LUCK had to remove the drivers side header then out came the steering box and column. We got the radiator out and just about everything we need to remove to lift the body off. We have some bumper brackets left and a bit of chrome then off comes the body.
As soon as the paint is stripped we will do an official name change to just plain old FLOYD to keep a little bit of the history 🙂
