Floyd – Week 7 Progress Update
Week 7 was a slow progress week. I was waiting on parts to arrive to complete the rocker restoration and now the rockers and new chassis support brackets are complete.
While we were waiting on parts to arrive Debby manned the sand blast cabinet and cleaned up a bunch of parts then I hungh them and painted them with POR 15. I completed the re-assembly of the brake and clutch pedals after paint.

Floyd Gets a New Power Plant and Suspension
We finally made some driveability decisions so we decided to replace the old king pin front end with a new Jim Meyer Racing coil over with rack and pinion steering and 11 inch disk brakes.
We also decided to replace the motor with a base Chevy 350 mated to a Tremac 5 speed form Amp Performance. The motor has arrived and the 5 speed should be in next week. The Jim Meyer group is back logged so we will not see the new front suspension until mid June.

A Small Bit Of Bad News :( (but it is not too bad)
While cleaning out the rocker area I uncovered some severely rusted metal under the fiberglass, who would have known there would be metal in a fiberglass car 🙂 The good news as major as it looks it will only set the project back a day or so and about $400.
